Anlotinib, known by its International Nonproprietary Name (INN) as Anlotinib INN 12 mg or its brand name Anlotib, is a medication that has garnered attention for its potential in treating various types of cancers. Developed by Chinese pharmaceutical company Chia Tai Tianqing Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., Anlotinib belongs to a class of drugs called multi-targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). These drugs work by inhibiting the activity of specific enzymes involved in tumor growth and progression.
Anlotinib has shown promise in the treatment of several types of cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), soft tissue sarcoma, and thyroid cancer, among others. Its mechanism of action involves targeting multiple angiogenic and tumor growth pathways, thereby exerting Anlotinib INN 12 Mg (Anlotib) anti-cancer effects. By inhibiting angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels that tumors need for growth), Anlotinib helps to starve tumors of their blood supply, ultimately impeding their growth and spread.

Clinical trials have demonstrated the efficacy and safety of Anlotinib in cancer treatment. In a phase III trial involving patients with advanced NSCLC who had previously received chemotherapy, Anlotinib significantly prolonged progression-free survival compared to a placebo. Additionally, Anlotinib has shown promising results in patients with soft tissue sarcoma, leading to its approval for this indication in China.
Like any medication, Anlotinib can cause side effects, which may vary in severity from person to person. Common side effects include hypertension, fatigue, diarrhea, hand-foot syndrome, and proteinuria. However, most side effects are manageable with proper medical supervision.
Anlotinib represents a valuable addition to the arsenal of anti-cancer therapies, offering new hope to patients with advanced or refractory cancers. Ongoing research continues to explore its potential applications, both as a monotherapy and in combination with other treatment modalities, aiming to further improve outcomes for cancer patients worldwide.
