This type of active devices has an inverse functionality to transistors. They call themselves a transcitor, rather than a transistor, because it directly transfers an input signal to a voltage output. Lee explains that his new device could work using the well-known Hall effect , which produces a voltage across a conductor when a magnetic field is applied in a direction perpendicular to the current.

But it's not clear how this could be exploited at the nanometer scale in circuits compatible with complementary metal-oxide semiconductors. This discovery may also lead to lower power consumption and faster C Level Executive List circuit speeds compared to a transistor-only circuit. Why does it take so long to advance these investigations? Memristors were slow to be discovered because the material properties that allow them to function can only be manipulated on an atomic scale.

Now the question is: who will be the first to discover the Transcitor? Transistors for infinite batteries As far back as 2016, Lee was working on a new transistor design that would allow electronic devices to run for months or even years without a battery charge. To explain this they use the analogy of water dripping from a leaky faucet. Electrical power leakage is a problem faced by all transistors.
